The rooms, all with fireplaces, run along the western wing of the house. The guests meet for drinks in the lodge sitting room prior to all moving to the dining room to eat a fantastic three course traditional Karoo dinner.

We stopped over in the Great Karoo (an elevated plain 5 hours drive north east of Cape Town) for one night at this game farm and ended up staying for 3 nights.
Originally commissioned by a Victorian English Gentleman, Alhusen, the homestead was built as a hunting retreat. Once a year he would invite friends from both England and Scotland to travel with him to the homestead to hunt, relax and enjoy good company.
It is now run by Ingrid and Kobus who are great fun and showed us all the Great Karoo has to offer.
